April showers May’s flowers
May 9th, 2006
Hi there! It's so lovely to have these sunny days where the air smells sweet. It's been a great couple of weeks. The Acoustic Lounge and the Acoustic Jukebox were great! I'm enjoying meeting lots of singer/songwriters at the gigs and also through myspace. See you on Thursday if you can make it!

Thanks Peter and Julie!
April 15th, 2006

Last night was such a great evening! The room above The Royal Oak is a wonderful place to play. It's smoke free and like a small church hall. There were too many acts to mention them all, most with original material that was wonderful to listen to. It was very imtimate as there were no microphones and I really enjoyed it! The highlight for me was John Carter singing some of his songs from the sixties and he sang Jeff Beck's 'Hi Ho Silver Lining'. At the end of the night everyone with an instrument played along and the rest of the audience joined in as Pete sang the last song. Brilliant!

The Electrocacoustic Club
April 13th, 2006

Johnny and myself played last night at The Electrocacoustic Club in Farringdon, London. It's a lovely venue with lots of comfy seating and a quiet friendly atmosphere. Will invited some great acts and we enjoyed them all. Check these guys out... Jo Williams, Marlowe, Polite Society, Roxy Rawson and The Zetland Players. I hope to play there again sometime soon.

Bed Springs and The Links Bar
April 10th, 2006
We played at Bed Springs, The White Hart on Thursday and Dave put on a great show, not just with his band at the end but in inviting some really interesting acts including a man playing a teapot! Last night we went to Liphook, a little village in Hampshire. Quite a way to go but we were warmly welcomed by Vic who put on a good show of singer/songwriters.

Live gigs
April 4th, 2006
On Friday it was such a wonderful night at the Willoughby Arms in Kingston. So many great musicians and such a warm and friendly environment. Last night we played at The Half Moon in Putney and there was a real wide range of music. It's great to get out there and hear peoples stories. So much music goes unnoticed if we rely on the radio to tell us what's out there. It's been lovely to see familiar faces as well... thankyou for coming along!

‘Sunlight on my Soul’ is out today!
February 6th, 2006
It’s been an amazing journey to get this far and now the new album is released!
I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has helped me to get it off the ground!
This weekend I sang some of the songs from ‘Sunlight on my Soul’ live to an audience for the first time and got a wonderful reaction. I’m looking forward to playing some live dates soon.

In the meantime I hope you enjoy ‘Sunlight on my Soul’
Lots of love,
Stephanie. xx

Chinese New Year
January 30th, 2006
The festive celebrations to mark the begining of the year of the Dog were a great sucess in Preston yesterday. A large crowd followed the procession of people carrying colourful flags and beautiful lanterns to the market square to watch the three dancing dragons. In the Guild Hall the music was wonderful and everyone was welcome to try there hand at Chinese painting and there was Jasmine tea and Chinese sweets for everyone to try. What a wonderful afternoon!

“Tis the season to be jolly!”
December 26th, 2005
Hi everyone! I've been busy making holly wreaths for the last couple of weeks and bouquets with a new variety of rose called 'Snow Mountain', it's pink and glittery, very nice. Anyway that's beside the point. What I'm really pleased about is that the new album is available to pre-order at Amazon.co.uk by following this link Well, another year over and a new one about to begin. The calender has amazing power to drag up the past but I'm thinking of the future now and how to make it what I want it to be. I hope we all have a wonderful new year filled with joy and peace and whatever it is we need. xxxx

Album Release Date
December 13th, 2005

Hi everyone, just to let you know the first review of 'Sunlight On My Soul' is out in January's edition of Uncut, thanks to Rob Hughes. I'm really excited!

It's been a tough two years since 'That Girl' came out. Getting the next album produced and making it available for people to find has been quite a journey but everything is coming together now and we have the album release date

Thank You

Brass Buttons
May 25th, 2004

I've two more songs to finish then the writing of the second album is finished! I've put a mp3 demo of a Gram Parsons song "Brass Buttons" here. It won't be used for anything - just thought you might like to have a listen.

Snowdrops
March 19th, 2004

I'm busy in the flower shop again this week. We've been selling plenty of shamrock and now we're getting ready for Mothers Day on Sunday. I'm singing away, working on my new lyrics. Spring begins on Saturday according to my calendar, at last!

Snowdrops!

Live at the Tate!
March 1st, 2004

Last week I sang live at the Tate Gallery! It was a private do, it went really well. I wasn't told who was in the audience, it was all quite secretive. There were whisperings one of the gentlemen was the King of Spain, but I was more interested in the pre-raphaelite paintings hanging in the room - The Lady of Shallot by John William Waterhouse is my all time favourite.

This week I'm singing on Wednesday at The Grey Horse in Kingston at 9.30ish and on Thursday at The Wheatsheaf in Parson Green, also 9.30ish. It'll be 20 minutes, voice and guitar.

See you there! - if not there will be more dates later in the month.

If I had A Flower

February 16th 2004

Hi there. Last week I was working in the flower shop - early mornings and late nights, for the run up to Valentines Day. Ah the joys of floristry. Started a new song about feeling trapped in Winter.

I just got Max Dogson's beach photo’s back, I’ll put them in the Gallery.

Bye for now.

Stephanie.

Blank White Sheet Film

January 29th 2004

Welcome to all the new members! It?s great to see the Message Board so busy.
Here?s a brief catch up?

In December I went to Camber Sands and stayed in the oldest haunted Inn in Britain. Max Dodson shot some black and white film of me wandering on the beach with a lovely set of wings. It goes perfectly with ?Blank White Sheet? - very thoughtful and mysterious. It?ll be on the website soon.

After Christmas I went to Wales for three weeks and worked on new material. Spent the days singing to the sea and watching flocks of birds changing shape. Recharged my batteries. I can?t wait to record the next album, but in the meantime I?m looking forward to what 2004 brings. I?m booked in at some ?open mic. nights? to sing a few acoustic songs, so that should be fun!

Thanks!
December 31st 2003
Hi there! Thank’s to everyone who’s written on the message board, it’s great to know Inappopriate has reached people as far as Canada and the US. Last week we started a regional radio tour. It began locally in Lancashire and stations in the N.West and up through the Lakes into Scotland and down the N.East into Newcastle.

It’s been good for me to get used to singing live and was lovely to meet so many supportive people. The artwork for the album has been finished. The handwritten lyrics are in there, along with one of my paintings. It’s really exciting for me to see it almost finished. The Box filmed a small introduction for the video of Inappropriate. I had a lovely afternoon being driven along the River Thames in a rickshaw! There are more radio interviews next week, not sure where. Bye for now, Stephanie.x

Album Launch

October 4th 2003

I?m sooooo happy!!!! My cheeks are aching I?m smiling so much! I couldn?t write earlier because stress got the better of me. Apologies to people close, for having to bite their tongues for the last couple of weeks. I got myself into such a fright at the thought of the launch, but my worrying was all for nothing (as usual).

What an amazing night! Thank you to everyone that came, the atmosphere was wonderful and I keep replaying the video in my mind. Seeing so many smiling faces.
Graham, Jamie and Phillipe played brilliantly. We had so many lovely comments, letters and cards. Thank you so much. Thanks to Rob at Truth, and everyone who helped organize it, and Nick for the great sound. I?ll never forget this night for as long as I live.
The songs were over in no time. It?s the first time I?ve really enjoyed singing in front of people. I was worried the day would never come and I?d have to do something else.

What a relief! Now I know I?m on track.
Oh- The album is out!!! Yipee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 Hello!

June 2003

Stephanie here, welcome to my new website! It's under construction, so bear with us while we sort out the final details.

The recording of the album is complete!

I'm back from Dublin and although I've new song ideas sprouting from my ears, and I'd happily camp out under the mixing desk and record new songs forever - I've been told to relax and wait and see what people think.

Relax?!

So, have a listen to the first single 'Inappropriate' and watch the video of me in the fairytale enchanted wood.

Feel free to ask questions and leave comments in the forum.

Bye for now, Stephanie x
